Does it really pay to study handwriting analysis?

The foremost question on prospective students' mind seem to be

Are there really opportunities for making money with handwriting analysis?"

The answer is an unequivocal YES.

I have worked as a successful professional graphologist for over 25 years. Initially, I had to solicit clients. But after a very short time, clients came to me through referrals - the most effective way of getting business!

I am sharing with you just a few of the e-mails I have received. For confidentiality reasons, I had to leave out the names,but the original letters are in my files.

1. We were referred to you by Lindsay .... with ...... Mortgage Co. Our , ...... Company, Inc., is very interested in conducting a handwriting analysis on future candidates before hiring them to work with our company. Please advise as to how we set up a contract with you for these services, or if that is the case. We would like to start this process immediately.

2. "My name is .... and I am trying to find your contact information for some people that want some handwriting analyses done. I work at .......Company, and believe you did one on me. Extremely accurate!!!"

3. "Your name was given to us by..... We are interested in using your handwriting analysis services. I am the president of a young and rapidly expanding company. The position I am hiring for is a high level executive assistant. What would be the cost?"

I received the following letter from a client in response to an analysis I had done for the company.

We also had a “fancy” evaluation done on this candidate at the recommendation of a consultant who is working with us. (The consultant does not believe in handwriting analysis! EMK) This evaluation was a 2 hour internet test that the applicant does at home. It was similar to yours but not as detailed. It did indicate a lack of truthfulness, but not as dramatic as yours.

I’ll show both to Ed ..... at HR ...... when I meet with him next week. Trying to get them to use you. They will help us find candidates for our firm admin and we’ll be using you, of course, so they’ll also get to see your work firsthand.

I believe these letters show that there is definitely money to be made with handwriting analysis. In fact, it's seems the perfect time to enter the field and it's the most wonderful profession I can think of. You can work from anywhere, the work is personally satisfying and also brings you the financial rewards. But one word of caution! You have to know what you are doing. And don't let anyone tell you that you can learn it in 10 minutes a day! You cannot! You have to REALLY KNOW GRAPHOLOGY! If you don't you will fall flat on your face. Unless you are willing to study hard and really learn the science, you might as well not even try.

Dear Erika, I was just working on lesson 11 of the SSS course and I have to stop and send along this compliment. I have collected and read a plethera of books on handwriting analysis (this has been an interest of mine since I was a teen) but I've never felt confident that I could do an analysis "right" because a lot of the instructions were too subjective (i.e. "hang the sample on a wall upside down and look at it from a distance then record how it makes you feel" or "no need to measure slant, with some practice you can eyeball it..."). Or worse they were vague and unclear. I've often said to myself something like, "That's an arcade? I could have sworn it was a garland. Wait a minute... do arcades only run along the top... can you have them both together... aaaaargh!" So I have to tell you that I really appreciate all the work you've put into creating volumes of examples and clear, concise, and thorough explanations. I can check and then double check. I can cross-reference to my heart's content. Your SSS course does more than educate me... it instills confidence and a much-appreciated feeling of professionalism. I just had to tell you that I really appreciate the amazing amount of work you've put into this course.

I'm starting on the SSS course and it makes so much sense! I'm enjoying it and having trouble putting the books down when I have to go on with other daily things. I am only beginning with my materials and already am so happy and overwhelmed at the level of depth, understanding, and generosity.

Erika, by comparison your courses do not even compare to other handwriting analysis courses! They are worth many times what you charge for them. My husband and I discussed this today - by comparison XXXXX's (name deleted by Erika K.) entire certification course should cost $14.95.

There is such a sense of confusion when one is first getting started in graphology, and it is imperative that you learn from a highly credible source to perfect such complex study. Erika has an excellent basic course of study, and when you have completed it, she also has a system of analysis (called the Step-By-Step) that will enable to produce what I consider to be the finest and most accurate description of the writer that has been developed to date.

The Beginner's Diploma Course

Many people are interested in handwriting analysis but don't want to enroll in a full-fledged study course right away. The "Beginners Course" is a perfect way to become familiar with the fascinating science of handwriting analysis. It teaches 40 personality traits - enough to gain personal insight into yourself and, on a basic level, to "read" other people's writings.

The Comprehensive Handwriting Analysis Course

This is very thorough course and goes far beyond most other courses in that it teaches you not only how to identify and describe personality traits, it also teaches you step by step how to write professional, marketable analyses. The course is based on the trait stroke approach and also introduces evaluated traits (combining or “stacking” traits).

Upon successful completion of the Comprehensive Course you will be fully equipped to work as a professional handwriting analyst.

The Evaluated traits course is a one-of-a-kind advanced trait stroke course that at this time, in this format, you cannot find anywhere else. Crépieux-Jamin, a leading French graphologist, developed the so-called “Theory of Resultants” which distinguishes between primary and secondary traits. In his book, “L’ECRITURE ET LE CARACTERE” (Paris 1889), he theorized that in a handwriting only the primary or basic traits show. The secondary or “resulting” traits have to be evaluated through combinations of primary or basic traits.

In other words, you can discover dozens of traits using clusters of basic traits - even if the primary basic trait is missing from the handwriting. How many times have you met a person that you know is sensitive, yet this does not show up in the handwriting? If you know evaluated traits, you might find sensitiveness indeed - but hidden in a cluster of evaluated traits.

If you would like to work with trait strokes, and if you are ready to move on to the next level and master the art of evaluated traits, this course is certainly for you.

This course comes with an optional computer supplement that automatically searches for and finds evaluated traits for you.

The Step-By-Step course of handwriting analysis (SSS)

This is a very , in-depth course designed for students who want to do professional analyses on a very comprehensive level .

The SSS course is unique in that it integrates the gestalt method with the most important aspects of the trait stroke approach into one logical system. This allows the deepest possible insight into the personality of the writer.

The SSS course is based upon :

(a) the contraction-release theory originally expounded by Klages

(b) Pulver's theory of depth as an unconscious expression of the writer's psychic and physical energy and

(c) Saudek's thesis of speed of writing as one of the foundations upon which other data rests.

Based upon the above theories, it analyzes four major com­ponents of handwriting, namely:

• vertical movement

• horizontal movement

• form and

• depth

The SSS course is not alone in utilizing the above theories. They are incorporated to a greater or lesser degree in most contemporary graphological methods. The SSS course, however, combines all of these fundamental theories methodically in one logical system.

The SSS course adheres to the principles of Otto Junge's Rational Graphology in that it is based strictly upon objective measure­ments and ratings and assigns equal quantitative weight to each handwriting component.

The SSS course differs from Rational Graphology in that it is more systematically organized. Junge designed 100 “Expression Tables” and evaluated between ten and twenty variables for one personality trait. The various traits were grouped in five syndromes with the smallest syndrome containing five and the largest encompassing forty-two characteristics. The SSS consistently evaluates ten components per trait. The traits are then grouped in eight syndromes of five traits each.

The SSS course is one-of-a-kind.

Unlike many other courses on the market, it is not a compilation or takeoff on other handwriting analysis materials or courses and it does not duplicate other training programs. It is the only course that integrates the gestalt method and the trait stroke approach into one unique system.

The SSS course is complete

The SSS differs from most others methods in that it continues where they leave off. Most schools instruct how to score a handwriting but little practical help is given in actually writing the analysis. In contrast, the SSS goes all the way. It guides the analyst step by step from scoring the writing to the completed analysis report. It is designed in a logical sequence so that by executing six steps the analyst automatically produces an accurate, objective analysis every time.

An option computer supplement is available for the SSS that takes care of most of
the scoring/measurement chores and also writes an analysis outline.

What kind of Certification will I get?

All courses are certification courses. Students who successfully complete the certification requirements will be awarded a beautiful diploma. There is no extra charge for the diploma.

Some “schools” charge a hefty fee for the diploma implying to the student that if they will pay an extra fee, they will get a certificate that means more than the one that is issued for free. In fact, the implication is that somehow the state approves the certification, when this is not true at all.
